Acharya Chanakya (350-275 BCE) , he traditionally identified as Kautilya or Vishnu Gupta

Chanakya's birthplace is unknown , potentially Acharya Chanakya born in Kusumpur close Pataliputra (advanced Patna) city in antiquated India . As per the Buddhist content Mahavamsa Tika, his origination was Taxila. As per some other Jain accounts, he was a local of South India. His father name was "Chanak"

2- व्यक्ति अकेले पैदा होता है और अकेले मर जाता है;और वो अपने अच्छे और बुरे कर्मों का फल खुद ही भुगतता है; और वह अकेले ही नर्क या स्वर्ग जाता है.

4-अगर सांप जेह्रीला ना भी हो तो उसे खुद को जहरीला दिखाना चाहिए.

8-किसी मूर्ख व्यक्ति के लिए किताबें उतनी ही उपयोगी हैं जितना कि एक अंधे व्यक्ति के लिए आईना.

Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person.

9-जब तक आपका शरीर स्वस्थ्य और नियंत्रण में है और मृत्यु दूर है,अपनी आत्मा को बचाने कि कोशिश कीजिये; जब मृत्यु सर पर आजायेगी तब आप क्या कर पाएंगे?

As long as your body is healthy and under control and death is distant, try to save your soul; when death is immanent what can you do?

10-कोई व्यक्ति अपने कार्यों से महान होता है, अपने जन्म से नहीं.

11-सर्प , नृप , शेर, डंक मारने वाले ततैया, छोटे बच्चे , दूसरों के कुत्तों  , और एक मूर्ख: इन सातों को नीद से नहीं उठाना चाहिए.

The serpent, the king, the tiger, the stinging wasp, the small child, the dog owned by other people, and the fool: these seven ought not to be awakened from sleep.

12-जिस प्रकार एक सूखे पेड़ को अगर आग लगा दी जाये तो वह पूरा जंगल जला देता है, उसी प्रकार एक पापी पुत्र पुरे परिवार को बर्वाद कर देता है.

13-सबसे बड़ा गुरु मन्त्र है : कभी भी अपने राज़ दूसरों को मत बताएं. ये आपको बर्वाद कर देगा.

14-पहले पाच सालों में अपने बच्चे को बड़े प्यार से रखिये . अगले पांच साल उन्हें डांट-डपट के रखिये. जब वह सोलह साल का हो जाये तो उसके साथ एक मित्र की तरह व्यव्हार करिए.आपके  व्यस्क बच्चे ही आपके सबसे अच्छे मित्र हैं.

Treat your kid like a darling for the first five years. For the next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat them like a friend. Your grown up children are your best friends.

15-फूलों की सुगंध केवल वायु की दिशा में फैलती  है. लेकिन एक व्यक्ति की अच्छाई हर दिशा में फैलती है.

18-हर मित्रता के पीछे कोई ना कोई स्वार्थ होता है.ऐसी कोई मित्रता नहीं जिसमे स्वार्थ ना हो. यह कड़वा सच है.

There is some self-interest behind every friendship. There is no friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth.

19-वेश्याएं निर्धनों के साथ नहीं रहतीं ,नागरिक दुर्बलों की संगती में नहीं रहते , और पक्षी उस पेड़ पर घोंसला नहीं बनाते जिसपे फल ना हों.

Whores don’t live in company of poor men, citizens never support a weak company and birds don’t build nests on a tree that doesn’t bear fruits.

20-सांप के फन , मक्खी के मुख में और बिच्छु के डंक में ज़हर होता है; पर दुष्ट व्यक्ति तो इससे भरा होता है.

There is poison in the fang of the serpent, in the mouth of the fly and in the sting of a scorpion; but the wicked man is saturated with it.

21-वह जो अपने परिवार से अत्यधिक जुड़ा हुआ है , उसे भय और चिंता का सामना करना पड़ता है,क्योंकि सभी दुखों कि जड़ लगाव है. इसलिए खुश रहने कि लिए लगाव छोड़ देना चाहिए.

He who is overly attached to his family members experiences fear and sorrow, for the root of all grief is attachment. Thus one should discard attachment to be happy.

22-वह जो हमारे चिंतन में रहता है वह करीब है , भले ही वास्तविकता में वह बहुत दूर ही क्यों ना हो; लेकिन जो हमारे ह्रदय में नहीं है वो करीब होते हुए भी बहुत दूर होता है.

He who lives in our mind is near though he may actually be far away; but he who is not in our heart is far though he may really be nearby.

23-अपमानित होके जीने से अच्छा मरना है.मृत्यु तो बस एक क्षण का दुःख देती है, लेकिन अपमान हर दिन जीवन में दुःख लाता है.

It is better to die than to preserve this life by incurring disgrace. The loss of life causes but a moment’s grief, but disgrace brings grief every day of one’s life.

24-कभी भी उनसे मित्रता मत कीजिये जो आपसे कम या ज्यादा प्रतिष्ठा के हों. ऐसी मित्रता कभी आपको ख़ुशी नहीं देगी.

Never make friends with people who are above or below you in status. Such friendships will never give you any happiness.

25-जब आप किसी काम की शुरुआत करें , तो असफलता से मत डरें और उस काम को ना छोड़ें. जो लोग इमानदारी से काम करते हैं वो सबसे प्रसन्न होते हैं.

Once you start a working on something, don’t be afraid of failure and don’t abandon it. People who work sincerely are the happiest.


26-सेवक को तब परखें जब वह काम ना कर रहा हो, रिश्तेदार को किसी कठिनाई  में , मित्र को संकट में , और पत्नी को घोर विपत्ति में.

Test a servant while in the discharge of his duty, a relative in difficulty, a friend in adversity, and a wife in misfortune.

27-संतुलित दिमाग से जैसी  कोई सादगी नहीं है, संतोष जैसा  कोई सुख नहीं है, लोभ जैसी कोई बीमारी नहीं है,और दया जैसा कोई पुण्य नहीं है.

There is no austerity equal to a balanced mind, and there is no happiness equal to contentment; there is no disease like covetousness, and no virtue like mercy.

28-यदि किसी का स्वभाव अच्छा है तो उसे किसी और गुण की क्या जरूरत है ? यदि आदमी के पास प्रसिद्धि है तो भला उसे और किसी सिंगार की क्या आवश्यकता है.

If one has a good disposition, what other virtue is needed? If a man has fame, what is the value of other ornamentation?

29-हे बुद्धिमान लोगों ! अपना धन उन्ही को दो जो उसके योग्य हों और किसी को नहीं. बादलों के द्वारा लिया गया समुद्र का जल हमेशा मीठा होता है.

O wise man! Give your wealth only to the worthy and never to others. The water of the sea received by the clouds is always sweet.

30-पृथ्वी सत्य की शक्ति द्वारा समर्थित है; ये सत्य की शक्ति ही है जो सूरज को चमक और हवा को वेग देती है; दरअसल सभी चीजें सत्य पर निर्भर करती हैं.

The earth is supported by the power of truth; it is the power of truth that makes the sun shine and the winds blow; indeed all things rest upon truth.

31-वो जिसका ज्ञान बस किताबों तक सीमित है और जिसका धन दूसरों के कब्ज़े मैं है, वो ज़रुरत पड़ने पर ना अपना ज्ञान प्रयोग कर सकता है ना धन.

One whose knowledge is confined to books and whose wealth is in the possession of others, can use neither his knowledge nor wealth when the need for them arises.

32-जो सुख-शांति व्यक्ति  को आध्यात्मिक शान्ति के अमृत से संतुष्ट होने पे मिलती है वो लालची लोगों को बेचैनी से इधर-उधर घूमने से नहीं मिलती.

The happiness and peace attained by those satisfied by the nectar of spiritual tranquility is not attained by greedy persons restlessly moving here and there.

33-एक अनपढ़ व्यक्ति का जीवन उसी तरह से बेकार है जैसे की कुत्ते की पूँछ , जो ना उसके पीछे का भाग ढकती  है ना ही उसे कीड़े-मकौडों के डंक से बचाती है.

The life of an uneducated man is as useless as the tail of a dog which neither covers its rear end, nor protects it from the bites of insects.

34-एक उत्कृष्ट बात जो शेर से सीखी जा सकती है वो ये है कि व्यक्ति जो कुछ भी करना चाहता है उसे पूरे दिल और ज़ोरदार प्रयास के साथ करे.

The one excellent thing that can be learned from a lion is that whatever a man intends doing should be done by him with a whole-hearted and strenuous effort.

35-सारस की तरह एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को अपनी इन्द्रियों पर नियंत्रण रखना चाहिए और अपने उद्देश्य को स्थान की जानकारी, समय और योग्यता के अनुसार प्राप्त करना चाहिए.

The wise man should restrain his senses like the crane and accomplish his purpose with due knowledge of his place, time and ability.
